Georgia Mountain Academy was founded by Keely Chalk — a Georgia State Certified educator holding a Master of Education in Secondary English Education and a B.S. in Middle Grades Education. After 20 years in the Newton, Cobb, and Forsyth County public schools and five years in a private hybrid homeschool setting, Keely built the program she always wished existed: expert, certified instruction wrapped around your family's life — not the other way around.
We're a small, caring community for families in Pickens, Gilmer, Cherokee, and surrounding mountain counties who want the best of both worlds: deeply qualified instruction and true homeschool freedom.

We Handle Georgia Homeschool Testing — Start to Finish
Georgia law requires nationally standardized testing every three years for home schooled students (after 3rd grade). Don't let this requirement stress you out — that's what we're here for.
We administer, score, and explain the results in plain English. You keep the records at home — you don't have to report to anyone. We just make sure you have everything you need.
Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS)
Measures reading, math, language & more compared to students nationwide — exactly what Georgia law requires.
Cognitive Abilities Test (CoGAT)
Reveals how your child learns best — verbal, quantitative, or nonverbal strengths — so you can teach more effectively.
ACT Prep — 4-Week Intensive
Small-group (max 4 students) live ACT prep with proven strategies, real practice tests, and personalized feedback. $400 complete.
